From the moment we heard of the Hope Project, we knew it would be powerful - not just because of its admirable goal of re-working hymns in a modern way, but because we knew that fighting for hope was fighting against the works of the enemy. Since the origin of this project, Deborah and I have had more than five separate close family friends get hit with cancer, and with each passing diagnosis we believed more strongly in declaring God's truths and reminding our souls of our security in Christ.
We took the simple, powerful spiritual song "Give Me Jesus" and aimed to amplify what it looked like to have Jesus and nothing else. Our hope was to powerfully declare that even if cancer took our friends, our family, and even our own breath - we will have not lost anything of eternal value so long as we have Jesus. May we be strengthened to carry forward until the final day, where "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:4)
