We knew we were going to choose a hymn, and we wanted to rework it. We either put a different melody to it, or keep the same melody and add a different twist. IN TENDERNESS HE SOUGHT ME was written a long time ago. It doesn’t sound like your traditional hymn, like AMAZING GRACE or BE THOUGH MY VISION. But, I love the words so much, and I wanted to make it something that would be catchy, something that is easier to sing to. The melody of the song really helps with the flow; it helps you connect with the words. The song is a reminder that God first chose me; he sought me even when I was sick with sin, and he keeps bring in my to the fold.The song reminds me that God chose me.
